Freelance Project Manager


The Project Manager will manage the workflow of all aspects of projects from job conception to delivery. Act as primary hub for circulation of jobs and team through all stages of a project. Ensure team adherence to production schedules and processes.


  • Ensure necessary steps of the project’s scope is accounted for within the schedule
  • Manage day-to-day tasks, have in-depth involvement to allow for early identification of potential challenges and insure on-time project deliverables
  • Manage project scope, timeline and budget (burn rate) and execute change control when additional requests are made
  • Lead weekly project status meetings and provide reports on project’s status
  • Communicate directly with clients to advise on project matters
  • Estimate timelines, budgets and resources on a per-project basis
  • Assign individual resource responsibilities, help identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of project
  • Database upkeep, including shot list entry and shot list changes
  • Produces materials for photo and illustration routing for approval including creation of retouching binders
  • Keeps current on company systems and procedures, and industry trends
  • Some evening and/or weekend work


  • A bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5+ years project management experience, including collateral materials, managing budgets, timelines and people in an agency or related environment (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience managing workflow for medium-to-large scale content creation efforts (print, photography, CGI, video production/editorial, etc.)
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, focus on problem solving; solutions oriented, ability to delegate tasks, as appropriate, etc.)
  • Experience in client-facing settings whether face-to-face or on conference calls.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written
  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with large cross-functional teams
  • Mac proficiency, particularly in the applications of MS Office Suite and database management software (Microsoft Project knowledge desired)
