Director, Live Action Production

The Senior Director of Live Production plays a critical role in developing and shaping an integral discipline in our agency's overall services across offices in North America. The responsibilities include advancing the strategic direction through strengthening capabilities, developing talent, optimizing processes, and growing the business organically and through new business opportunities. 


  • Advance the Live-Action Production business across North and America while closely connecting to global practices.
  • Provide creative solutions through trusted partnership and creative collaboration. 
  • Meet or exceed client deliverables while maintaining a proper budget, timing, and expectations.
  • Accurately plan and forecast scope of work, budgets, timelines, and deadlines.
  • Develop robust team structure and resourcing plan.
  • Manage and optimize live-action production workflow, processes, and operation across the offices to work seamlessly and efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities and expand live-action production services.
  • Lead and develop personnel into a high-performing team.
  • Create reports for production operation revenue and burn across teams and clients.
  • Create forecasts to future scaling or down periods for productions
  • Work closely with the Chief Production Officer, Head of Production, and other leadership to overcome obstacles and advance the business.
  • Instill best practices to Business Affairs managing talent, vendor, and licensing contracts to protect the company and clients.
  • Keep the company up to date on the latest news of production trends, talent, vendors, and technologies.
  • Partner with Human Resources to recruit and develop talent.
  • Forge and manage external vendor relationships for project collaboration where needed.

  • 10+ years in a video and live-action production environment
  • 5+ years in a managerial role.
  • Excellent time management skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and progressively to find creative solutions for any problem.
  • Proven leadership, has managed more than 20 team members.
  • Organized and works well under tight and changing deadlines.
  • Efficient problem solver in a video production environment.
  • Must be well organized with a keen eye for technical processes.
  • Financially astute, able to strategically manage commercially.
  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude at all times.
