Freelance Local Assistant Editor

The Localization Assistant Editor will be responsible for ingesting and organizing all incoming master assets and insert specific localized material to a completed deliverable need.  Responsible for ensuring smooth localization pipeline from receiving and quality checking incoming data, tracking of bulk deliverables and exporting to specific media channel needs. Materials may include camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and visual effects.

  • Responsible for tracking incoming drives and footage links, then ingesting footage to appropriate folder structure.
  • Transcode footage to meet project guidelines and pipeline specifications.
  • Organize media assets based on region and localization needs, so finding needed footage is quick and effortless.
  • QC all incoming master assets to ensure they meet required specifications and there are no render errors.
  • Setup bins with master assets and adjust localization Premiere template to match needs of project.
  • Collaborate with Motion Graphics artists to share working and final localization graphic assets.
  • Drop in scratch VO, of multiple languages, into editorial timeline.
  • Ensuing each localization assets (i.e. rating card, supers, CTA, etc) are placed in the correct place in the editorial timeline and specific to the delivered region.
  • Flagging any issues with received assets or missing data.
  • Online final localized motion graphic and sound mixing files.
  • Exporting a single deliverable into a series of specific output types for the localized region.
  • Keep organized hundreds of deliverables in final folder structure and spreadsheet trackers.


  • Preferred 2+ years in an assistant editorial role.
  • Proficiencies in Adobe Premiere is a must.
  • Knowledge of After Effects, VFX media, Resolve and camera raw media.
  • Excellent time management and asset tracking skills is required.
  • Able to take direction well from editorial and post production department.
  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  • Able to work under pressure and under deadlines, with strong follow through abilities
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, flexible and helpful, able to multi-task, self-starter
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Competence with working in shared network environments and structured file systems
  • Some long hours may be required.
