Director, Marketing Science


We’re looking for an energetic Director of Marketing Science to lead, nurture, champion, continue to grow and evolve our Analytics and Data Science practice at Designory.  You have the experience to develop actionable insights through a holistic approach to analysis, innovative thinking, as well as the ability to be a key contributor towards strategic and tactical efforts.    


This position calls for a critical thinker, someone who looks to not just answer a question, but will also ask ‘so what’ to dig deeper than surface-level findings.   


You are well-versed in Test and Learn methodologies, knowledge of visualization tools, automated reporting, and a foundational understanding of the application and value of  data infrastructure solutions (data warehouse vs data lake, ETL processes, etc.), advanced tools (Python/R), and platforms to lead future innovative growth of the discipline. 



  • Data & Analytics practice lead who champions a data-driven, test-and-learn approach to all performance projects 
  • A thought leader when it comes to data, technology, and performance marketing   
  • Hire, develop, manage and grow the Marketing Science team, which consists of Data Scientists and Analysts, on cross-functional teams across various clients 
  • Distill the complexities of digital analytics (tagging, data, reporting) into layman terms, to tell a compelling story for our clients that provides actionable insights, test/optimization opportunities, and impactful visualizations  
  • Translate business needs/goals into measurable and testable KPIs 
  • Leverage automation, where possible, to create efficiencies within workflows that drive ROI  
  • Proactively identify opportunities vs reactively report on what is happening  
  • Contribute to new business pitches & organic growth opportunities 
  • Collaborate with existing analysts across paid media, social, performance & growth practices to upskill and foster a culture that rewards innovation and forward-thinking 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Insights & Optimization teams which consist of Content Strategy, UX, and Creative resources to tell a holistic story of performance and conversion optimization opportunities  
  • You’re an analyst, so analysis will be a part of the job. Work with your analytic team (junior-to-senior) and managerial team to review, mentor, grow and improve the analytic output. Get in the data-weeds for that game-changing idea you have and prove it out through analysis. 
  • Talk to our clients. Have your team talk to our clients. Build the repertoire for the department as leaders of the discipline 



  • 8+ years’ experience in digital analytics AND clear, demonstrable examples of performance as it relates to the job summary or responsibilities. 
  • 7+ years using web analytic tools (Google Analytics/GTM, Adobe Analytics/DTM) and demonstrable understanding of developing tagging requirements, analyzing data, presenting stories, and creating test and learn plans/agendas 
  • 3-5+ years developing Learn and Test plans/agenda, including foundation knowledge of testing tools (Adobe Target, Optimizely, etc.) 
  • 3-5+ years managerial experience 
  • 1-3+ years working with Data Warehouses, Lakes, ETL processing, aggregation 
  • A critical thinker! Someone who is always asking questions of what more can be done, how else can we do this and what does this all mean 
  • Functional understanding of paid media analytics, tagging, UTM strategy and reporting 
  • Foundational understanding of digital campaign performance and site performance/optimization across web, Paid Media/SEM and SEO). Foundation knowledge of media platforms and tools (Campaign Manager, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, DV360, DTM  social platforms, etc.) 
  • Demonstrable success in conducting “forensic” analysis to identify and eliminate data-quality issues. We’re an agency and, at times, work with other team’s data implementation.  
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Google Data Studio, PowerBI, Datorama, etc.) 
  • Background in statistical analysis or working knowledge of applied statistics
