Freelance UI Engineer, Technology



Working with the rest of the team, the Freelance UI engineer will be responsible for maintaining and supporting a wide variety of front end codebases.

We are looking for an expert in HTML, CSS, and Javascript with a design eye and some versatility in some backed concepts and technologies.

This person should be well versed in current and budding techniques for his or her ever-morphing craft and be able to utilize them wisely and efficiently (especially in a landscape of changing requirements).

  • Get to know fellow team members
  • Ramp up quickly to contribute to ongoing work using our primary tools and technology stacks, including Node, Handlebars, React, Redux, SCSS, and Git
  • Work with backend teams to make sure front-end updates work properly on platform (Sitecore)
  • Work with an established codebase and framework (static Node. js/handlebars/SASS)
  • Troubleshoot and partner with QA Team members to address bugs





4+ years experience in

  • HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • Working as a designer or with designers to actualize UI vision (especially for design systems)
  • Styled Components, SCSS/SASS (or other CSS pre-processors)
  • Fully responsive design (beyond breakpoints or Bootstrap-like frameworks)
  • Git (or other version-control systems)
  • Communicating between multiple stakeholders (clients, strategists, designers, developers, project managers, and QA specialists)
  • Node.js
  • React.js, Vue.js, Angular, or similar frontend frameworks
  • Content Management Systems such as Wordpress, Drupal, Sitecore or similar
  • Contributing on a team of developers on complex projects


Working knowledge of

  • Gulp, webpack, or similar task runners
  • Analytics (such as Google or Omniture)
  • At least two server-side languages such as Node.js, PHP, .NET, Ruby, etc.
