Quality Assurance Engineer


The Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) is a senior member of the Compliance team. The person is primarily responsible for the development and upkeep of automation tests to drive efficiency, innovation, organization, and documentation that allows for continuous improvement of the quality of our work. In addition, this person is responsible for providing guidance and leadership to junior automation testers under the direction of the Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager. 

The QAE will utilize web UI automation to ensure that our custom-developed client websites and applications are compliant with design, functional, and content requirements. They will also participate in and/or lead brainstorming sessions and cross-discipline internal projects.

The QAE has extensive experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript, and console, and will be expected to use UI automation testing and Git to develop, maintain, and execute automated testing, in addition to training junior automation testers on how to perform these tasks independently. 

Some sample day to day duties below, but not limited to:

  • Communicate with team members to complete goals, resolve issues, and improve work efficiency.
  • Review and analyze new projects and project features, plan and execute automated testing.
  • Perform risk analysis and identify potential automated test scenarios.
  • Create automated tests, plan and review work of other AT team members.
  • Document and keep AT procedures and practices up to date.
  • Assist in distributing AT work among team members to ensure the correct workload balance and team effectiveness.
  • Maintain AT infrastructure by performing updates and backups.
  • Research and stay abreast of new trends, tools, and practices in AT.


  • Develop, maintain, and execute web UI automated tests
  • Provide guidance and leadership to junior team members
  • Delegate work when required and ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager and Senior Quality Assurance Tester to ensure alignment on all automation initiatives
  • Engage with the development team on new automation initiatives
  • Articulate and document processes
  • Analyze process gaps around launches and/or updates with a focus on finding solutions and smoothing out the process
  • Collaborate across multiple disciplines to implement automation integration with Jira
  • Follow/build testing plans
  • Formulate/maintain timelines for the automation team and communicate with senior team members
