People Ops Coordinator


Designory is seeking a collaborative critical thinker to join our growing People Ops team! This position will provide People Ops support to our employee population in the Chicago office and will also work closely with the People Ops team in our various offices, as well as team members in Chicago.

This position will assist in the following areas (high-level):

  • Recruitment - Supporting recruiting efforts for Chicago roles (i.e. scheduling interviews, resume screening, reference checks, prepare offer ltters, job posting, etc.)
  • Onboarding/Offboarding - Manage new hire on-boarding/off boarding and paperwork process
  • People Administration - Maintain all department forms and electronic documents 
  • Social & Volunteer Efforts - Assist with social club activities (, vendor partnerships, and give back opportunities

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS - What does success look like?

During the 1st Month:

  • Get acquainted with the organization and the Chicago employees
  • Learn our internal processes within our department (new hire notices, term notices, performance review process, etc.)
  • Get familiar with company tools such as Reach, AX, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, etc.

Within 3 Months:

  • Understand our HR processes and policies
  • Support recruiting efforts (i.e. scanning resumes, phone screens, scheduling interviews) with minimum oversight
  • Own all paperwork, employment verifications, and paid time off request with minimum supervision
  • Shadow People Ops Manager on new hire orientations 

Within 6 Months:

  • Ability to lead new hire orientation and off boarding process with minimum oversight
  • Establish relationships with employees and Chicago leadership
  • Own job postings for all Chicago roles and making sure positions are posted in a timely fashion
  • Assist social club with any events and campaigns for the company
  • Coordinate and schedule 60 & 90 day new hire check-ins
  • Collaborate and contribute to the People Ops team by providing feedback and active participation in meetings 

Within 12 Months:

  • Lead AX training for all new hires and freelancers
  • Recruit and manage internship program for Chicago
  • Own full cycle recruitment for 1-2 jr. roles
  • Subject matter expert on all HR processes and policies
  • Ability to speak to all levels in the organization
  • Provide day to day support to Chicago employees with minimum oversight
  • Begin identifying areas for improvement in our practices and capabilities


  • At least 1-2 years related HR experience and/or training
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GSuite. Strong database skills (such as Visio is a plus).

  • Great team collaborator with excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, a self-starter, resourceful
  • Excellent at managing multiple priorities, program management and event coordination
  • Flexible style and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • HRIS experience is a plus
