Lead Engineer, Technology

JOB SUMMARY 

Working with the rest of the team, the lead engineer will be responsible for working with clients and team members to solve everyday challenges that arise. This person is comfortable navigating all three aspects of digital work: people, process, and technology.

We are looking for someone who has broad knowledge across the spectrum of web and experiential technologies with deep experience in front-end execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the execution of web solutions
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology that will improve aspects of the company as a whole.
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical parties.
  • Navigate and execute in high-stakes / production environments.
  • Identify and debug various website issues, no matter how deeply rooted they may be. Afterwards, be able to fully explain how an issue arose, and give guidance on what can be done to solve for those types of issues.
  • Be comfortable managing git repositories in an agile environment.
  • Always striving to improve inefficiencies, whether through automation or technology, or through documented processes.
  • Mentor junior teammates to provide guidance and coaching on code implementation/design review.

 QUALIFICATIONS

4+ years experience in

  • Communicating between multiple stakeholders toward creative solutions
  • Working with/generating business requirements, technical documentation and test cases.
  • Leading a team of developers on complex projects and breaking work into manageable chunks
  • Managing enterprise-level solutions (including security and WCAG for ADA compliance)
  • HTML, CSS (SCSS/SASS), and Javascript
  • Fully responsive design (beyond breakpoints or Bootstrap-like frameworks)
  • At least two server-side languages such as Node.js, PHP, C#, Ruby, etc.
  • Content Management Systems such as Wordpress, Drupal, Sitecore or similar (Drupal a huge plus)
  • Some database management
  • Git, or other version control systems.
  • Gulp, Webpack, or similar task runners
  • React.js, Vue.js, Angular, or similar frontend frameworks
