Video Strategist

JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for a video strategist to join our insights and strategy group and work alongside our creative and product teams to provide behavioral and audience insights, strategic and tactical recommendations that result in the creation of high performing, data-driven video executions across YouTube, Website and Social channels for several of our automotive brands.

The ideal person for this role should be comfortable with mining YouTube Studio, SEM Rush and working with our analytics team to create actionable recommendations as well as presenting strategic and tactical recommendations and performance reports to internal teams and clients. The words “audience retention graph” is an every-day part of this person’s vocabulary.

Most importantly, this candidate is a creative, out-of-the-box thinker with a deep understanding of the digital video ecosystem and is constantly looking for ways to evolve our agencies video story telling capabilities, increase audience engagement and be on the lookout for what’s on the horizon.

This person will also responsible for educating internal teams and creative and account leadership on video optimization best practices and new developments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate and build partnerships with creative, product, analytics and strategy teams to plan and optimize video creative across Website, Social and YouTube channels from inception through to post-launch optimization.
  • Develop audience insights that result in data-driven video executions that exist on Website, Social and YouTube channels
  • Lead technical optimization of YouTube creative, including creating and organizing video playlists, tagging and titling best practices, thumbnail A/B testing, developing customer end card strategy and execution, and collaborating with design teams to update channel design elements
  • Develop and present weekly, monthly and quarterly video analytics reports to clients and internal teams to guide overall strategic approach and execution
  • Lead overall video strategy by analyzing YouTube, website and social media channel analytics as well as the overall video ecosystem to help drive more engaging and higher-performing content
  • Research and identify key topics for client brands, along with content recommendations and insights, to help increase viewership and engagement metrics
  • Champion and communicate video strategy internally by collaborating with various departments on video strategy, creating and updating company video optimization best practices, and developing collaborative working relationships with creative leads
  • Conduct experiments to identify effective new strategies, optimization opportunities and tracking ongoing audience trends

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years minimum experience building data-driven video strategies across multiple channels including YouTube, Social Media and Website
  • Understanding of videos role in the customer journey
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with the client and internal stakeholders to demonstrate the business value of video programs
  • Strong working knowledge of YouTube optimization best practices and analytics
  • Paid media experience helpful
  • Working knowledge of video optimization tools such as Tube Buddy and VidIQ
  • Understanding of digital video and how audiences watch and engage with it across platforms
  • Proven track record of audience growth on other channels
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and brands at once and collaborate effectively to bring ideas to life
  • A lover of good video storytelling
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
